Example One
We are looking for a few talented writers who are willing to interview and talk with the less fortunate and homeless, write a short story about the person’s life, who they are, and their current situation. These stories will be shared on our blog under, "DAILY STORIES." We wish to give attention and a voice to those lacking both. Sharing these stories will allow the voices of the less fortunate and homeless to be heard. More than giving money or even a meal, homeless people are starved for some attention, someone who will look them in the eye and see them as a person and human being and not just someone who has taken over the pavement and is an inconvenience to you.
Not all of us can do great things, but you can do this small thing with great love. A few kind words may be short and easy to speak, but their echo is timeless. More than anything, the homeless feel unwanted, unloved and uncared for, forgotten by everybody, which is a much bigger hunger and poverty than food. Your attention, a few kind words and a smile will help alleviate that and perhaps give them a ray of hope. We don't seek your money on behalf of the less fortunate, we seek your love and time for them, even if it's only an hour once a week.
Your SMILE may be the only smile they may have had for months. Will you volunteer your SMILE?
Example Two
Create a random act of kindness video for our You Tube Channel. Record a video of you doing a random act of kindness for anyone, your family member, a friend, a stranger, someone 5000 miles away and you record it on zoom, a homeless person, a waitress, a parking attendant, anyone. Then let the world share in your act so others may follow your lead.
It might end up being the most precious thing you have done in a long time. Your reward could quite possibly be tears of joy for that someone you just impacted. Perhaps you may find tears streaming your eyes as well.
Would that not be the most rewarding thing ever?
